Willow Smith’s New Group ‘Melodic Chaotic’ Releases New Single “The Intro” [Listen]

Willow Smith just dropped a new single called, ‘The Intro.’
The 12-yr-old has teamed up with music producer DJ Fabrega and formed a duo group called “Melodic Chaotic” – which means “she’s Melodic on the tracks/vocals and he’s Chaotic on the beats.”
The duo will be dropping their first 4-track EP, sometime this summer, hopefully July, as mentioned in their intro video.
“It’s going to be all brand new original music from Melodic Chaotic,” said DJ Fabrega. “We hope you guys are excited because we are super excited to share our music with you guys and make our big debut…” Check out the track below

Willow Smith is so fierce . . . just before attending the premiere of the sci-fi flick “After Earth” at the Ziegfeld Theater in NYC tonight (May 29), the stylish 12-yr-old took to social media and shared some candid photos of herself and family.
Rocking a sleek black and white ensemble, Willow was on hand to support her father Will and brother Jaden‘s new film in which they played on-screen father and son.
Also in attendance was mom Jada and older brother Trey Smith.
After Earth hits theaters this weekend May 31 and also stars Zoe Kravitz and Sophie Okonedo.
Willow Smith No Longer Cast In ‘Annie’ Remake Project!

Last year it was announced that Willow Smith will star in Sony’s remake of “Annie” – now word is that the 11-yr-old is no longer attached to the project because she has outgrown the role.
According to Huffpost via Deadline.com and Variety, Will Gluck has been hired to direct “Annie,” and one of his first jobs will be finding a leading lady: Willow Smith, who had been attached to star as the title little orphan since the project was announced in 2011, is no longer set to star. As Deadline.com notes, the pop star, now 11, is too old for the role.
The “Annie” remake was first announced in January of 2011. Smith’s father, Will Smith, was the driving force behind the project, via his Overbrook Entertainment production company, while Jay-Z was attached to work on the music. In February of 2011, Deadline.com reported that Ryan Murphy was the top choice to direct the film, but Murphy passed on directing the musical remake in March. More >

Since her debut on the music scene two years ago, 12-yr-old Willow Smith has been under the watchful eye of many critics. The young entertainer who is known for her bold fashion choices, cutting and dying her hair multiple colors, often remain silent when the cyber hair bullies attack her evolving style. Now, Jada Pinkett Smith has had enough. She recently took to Facebook to defend her daughter’s hair choices against the critics.
In an open letter titled, ‘A letter to a friend,’ Jada said she made a promise to endow Willow with the power to always know that her body, spirit and her mind are HER domain. And that her beauty, value and worth are not measured by the length of her hair.

A letter to a friend…
This subject is old but I have never answered it in its entirety. And even with this post it will remain incomplete.
The question why I would LET Willow cut her hair. First the LET must be challenged. This is a world where women,girls are constantly reminded that they don’t belong to themselves; that their bodies are not their own, nor their power or self determination. I made a promise to endow my little girl with the power to always know that her body, spirit and her mind are HER domain. Willow cut her hair because her beauty, her value, her worth is not measured by the length of her hair. It’s also a statement that claims that even little girls have the RIGHT to own themselves and should not be a slave to even their mother’s deepest insecurities, hopes and desires. Even little girls should not be a slave to the preconceived ideas of what a culture believes a little girl should be. More to come. Another day.
