Will Smith and his son Jaden appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show today to promote their upcoming movie “After Earth.”
During the interview, the duo were asked to clarify the recent comments that Jaden is seeking emancipation from his parents.
“See, here’s the thing that you need to understand: I’m not going anywhere,’ the 14-yr-old actor said. “The thing that people don’t get is everything at this house is free! So I can get anything and everything at his house, so I’m going to be there 20, 30 more years.”
The father and son movie star duo also told Ellen about their relationship, and the things Will does to embarrass his son.

Jada Pinkett Smith is setting the record straight about recent comments she made, that suggests she has an open marriage with Will Smith.
Last week, in an interview with HuffPost, the entertainer was asked about the persistent rumors about her relationship with hubby- “I’ve always told Will: you can do whatever you want as long as you can look at yourself in the mirror and be okay. Because at the end of the day, Will is his own man.”
Well those comments had people asking more questions…so yesterday (April 14) Jada took to Facebook to clarify them.
“The statement I made in regard to, “Will can do whatever he wants,” has illuminated the need to discuss the relationship between trust and love and how they co-exist…
Here is how I will change my statement…Will and I BOTH can do WHATEVER we want, because we TRUST each other to do so. This does NOT mean we have an open relationship…this means we have a GROWN one.”

Will Smith has revealed why he turned down Quentin Tarantino’s western revenge-fantasy Django Unchained.
The 45-yr-old actor who is currently promoting his upcoming film ‘After Earth,’ told EW, the he turned down the part because his character wasn’t the lead. “Django wasn’t the lead, so it was like, I need to be the lead. The other character was the lead!”
On pleading with Tarantino to let Django have a more central role in the story: “I was like, ‘No, Quentin, please, I need to kill the bad guy!’”
On being a fan of the finished film, which earned over $400 million in worldwide box office and winning two Oscars: “I thought it was brilliant,” he says. “Just not for me.”

The sci-fi adventure which “centers on a father and son, after a crash landing, explore a planet that was evacuated by humans due to catastrophic events,” is directed by M. Night Shyamalan.
The movie also stars Isabelle Fuhram, Zoe Kravitz and Sophie Okonedo. After Earth hits theaters on June 7, 2013.
