Three months after announcing their shocking separation, Heidi Klum has officially filed for divorce from Seal.

“A petition, which lists irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split, was filed Friday afternoon in Los Angeles Superior Court,” PEOPLE reports. “The duo had a prenuptial agreement in place and will retain their separate assets and property.”

The couple has four children together, including Heidi’s 7-yr-old daughter from a previous relationship.

The “Project Runway” host is asking for sole physical custody of the children, with Seal getting visitation and joint legal custody.

Seal Returns to LA, Heidi Klum Have Park Playtime with Kids!

Seal touched down in LA yesterday March 28, after taping his new gig in Australia.

The British Singer serves as a coach on the Australian version of The Voice alongside country singer Keith Urban and Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden.

Meanwhile, his estranged wife, Heidi Klum was spotted spending time with their four children Leni, 7, Henry, 6, Johan, 5, Lou, 2, and her parents Genther and Erna at a park in Santa Monica, Calif., yesterday.

The once happy couple announced their separation back in January after seven years together.

Seal Defends Decision To Discuss Heidi Split: “Fans Deserved Some Kind Of Explanation”

While promoting his new album ‘Soul 2,’ in Australia, singer Seal explained why he opened up about his split from Heidi Klum in several TV interviews, even though she’s upset that he’s yapping his mouth.

“I was booked to do the Ellen (DeGeneres) show and booked to do the Piers Morgan show three months in advancebecause I had a record to promote, it’s not like this thing happened and then I decided next week that I wanted to go on their shows.

“These people are my friends I’ve know them for a long time and as well as respecting their integrity there are a lot of people who were genuinely saddened by the fact my wife and I had decided to go our separate ways. While they don’t really have the right to know details of our private life, I felt that those people at least had a right to some kind of explanation. When you publicize your marriage as much as our marriage was publicized, when you renew wedding vows, when you do all those things you are giving them a picture of an ideal relationship, of a relationship that people aspire towards, so when it goes south you can’t all of a sudden take the philosophy of Celestine monk and decide to go for a vow of silence, it doesn’t really work like that. And while I respect my wife’s decision not to talk about it, I felt that people at least deserved some kind of explanation.”[source]

Seal and his supermodel wife Heidi Klum recently announced their separation and Heidi is pissed that her soon-to-be-ex hubby is yapping about their divorce while peddling his new album Soul 2.

Hours after his wife Heidi Klum announced her separation from the entertainer, he was on promotional tour for his new album.

Stopping by the Ellen DeGeneres show, Seal opened up about the recent “shocking announcement” and stressed that the couple are parting on amicable terms, and will work to make sure that their relationship doesn’t sour for the sake of their four children.

ELLEN: “I think it’s a very very hard thing to be in a relationship and working on a relationship and have a family and have kids and have two huge careers and a lot going on, and to be in the public eye. It’s official, Heidi Klum & Seal are getting a divorce

In a joint statement released tonight, the seemingly perfect couple announced their separation.

“While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate. We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart. This is an amicable process and protecting the well-being of our children remains our top priority, especially during this time of transition. We thank our family, friends, and fans for their kind words of support. And for our children’s sake, we appreciate you respecting our privacy.”

Heidi and Seal got married in 2005 and have four children: Leni, 7, Henry, 6, Johan, 5, and Lou, 2.
