Kris Kross Member Laid To Rest: Chris Smith’s Emotional Remarks During Chris Kelly’s Funeral [Video]

Jermaine Dupri and Chris “Daddy Mac” Smith said goodbye to their friend Chris “Mac Daddy” Kelly at his funeral at the Jackson Memorial Baptist Church, in Atlanta yesterday.
The 34-yr-old entertainer who was part of the rap duo Kris Kross died on May 1 of an apparent drug overdose.
Chris aka Daddy Mac gave an emotional eulogy, in which he confessed, “It’s been like a struggle for me every day. This morning when I woke up this peace came over me, cuz I know Chris is in Heaven.”
He ended his speech with, “I just wanna say I love you man and imma miss you daily. I could say Kris Kross forever, but I know without Chris my life, it ain’t never gonna be the same, but I just hope that our legacy for Hip Hop is never forgotten. But imma do my part tho to make sure Chris memory live on.”

Chris Kelly aka Mac daddy is died. He was only 34.
The rapper who is part of the rap duo “Kris Kross” was found unresponsive at his home in Georgia, and was pronounced dead at the Atlanta Medical Center shortly after 5:30 pm yesterday May 1.
Kelly’s mother, Donna Kelly Pratte, released a joint statement with Kriss Kross’s former record label, So So Def, mourning Kelly’s death.
“It is with deep sadness that we announce that our beloved Chris Kelly has passed away on May 1,” the statement reads. “To millions of fans worldwide, he was the trendsetting, backwards pants-wearing one-half of Kris Kross who loved making music. But to us, he was just Chris – the kind, generous and fun-loving life of the party. Though he was only with us a short time, we feel blessed to have been able to share some incredible moments with him. His legacy will live on through his music, and we will forever love him.”
Back in February, Kris Kross performed together at the 20th anniversary for SoSo Def.

Famed movie critic Roger Ebert passes away at 70

Legendary film critic Roger Ebert has died, after an 11-year-battle with cancer.
Two days ago, the 70-yr-old revealed that he was taking a ‘leave of presence‘ because the cancer had returned.
In a statement today, his wife of 20-yrs Chaz Ebert said she’s devastated by the loss of her husband, adding that Roger was “getting tired of his fight with cancer, and said if this takes him, he has lived a great and full life.”
“I am devastated by the loss of my love, Roger — my husband, my friend, my confidante and oh-so-brilliant partner of over 20 years. He fought a courageous fight. I’ve lost the love of my life and the world has lost a visionary and a creative and generous spirit who touched so many people all over the world. We had a lovely, lovely life together, more beautiful and epic than a movie. It had its highs and the lows, but was always experienced with good humor, grace and a deep abiding love for each other…”
“We were getting ready to go home today for hospice care, when he looked at us, smiled, and passed away. No struggle, no pain, just a quiet, dignified transition.”

Drake Mourns Grandmother’s Death
In unfortunate celebrity family news, Drake is mourning the death of his beloved grandmother, Evelyn Sher, who died on thanksgiving day.
The Canadian-born rapper took to twitter and shared the sad news. “Rest in peace to my grandmother Evelyn Sher.” He wrote, “What a day to go…thankful to have had the times we did.”

I don’t know if this is funny or just embarrassing but at the same time its also sad. TV guide posted the wrong pic when they made an announcement of the passing of RuPaul’s Drag Race cast member Sahara Davenport. The website posted a pic of former Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member Sheree Whitfield instead of drag performer Sahara Davenport, born Antoine Ashley.
“I am sorry to hear about the lost of Sahara Davenport My condolences go out to her Family. Pls remove my picture from your website @TVGuide,” Sheree wrote. Followed with a message asking for prayers for the Sahara, then demanded that TV Guide apologize to his family, “@TVGuide You owe Sahara Davenport’s Family and Fans an apology for using the wrong picture.”
Antoine passed away due to heart failure on Oct 1, 2012, at John Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland at the age of 27.

Antoine Ashley who goes by the stage name Sahara Davenport has died. The 27-yr-old entertainer who was a cast member on Season 2 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” was a classically trained dancer who started performing in drag while attending Southern Methodist University in Dallas, People reports
“Shocked & heartbroken over @SaharaDavenport. Never occurred to me that we’d ever lose one of my girls. I see them as immortal,” RuPaul tweeted
“Logo is profoundly saddened by the passing of Antoine Ashley who fans around the world knew and loved as Sahara Davenport,” the network said in a statement earlier today. “He was an amazing artist and entertainer who’ll be deeply missed by his Logo family. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family, especially his boyfriend Karl, in their time of need.”

LL Cool J is mourning the death of his father Jame Nunya. The rapper-turned actor took to twitter and shared the sad news, “RIP to My Father James Nunya. You passed away yesterday. But The lessons you taught me live on in my heart. Thank you. I love you,” he tweets.
Although the NCIS actor didn’t share details regarding the cause of death, he did however tweeted a follow-up message thanking his fans for their prayers and love. “I thank you all for your prayers and love. I truly appreciate you. #RipJamesNunya #MyFather”
