In a recent interview Nicole Scherzinger said her good girl image has prevented her from reaching a high level of success.
She said she’s ‘sassy and classy’ and if she was was more ‘slutty,’ she’d probably be a lot more successful by now.
Really? Dancing in lingerie and oozing sex appeal as front singer of the overly sexual girl group Pussycat Dolls wasn’t enough? Perhaps not?
Here’s what the 34-yr-old had to say: “With these kind of songs, I don’t feel I have to justify myself to anyone. I come from the most religious family – my grandfather is a priest – and if they support me in all this, and they do, then I’m OK. I’m being sassy and classy; I’m having fun. I’m not coming from a dark place. To be honest with you, I sometimes wish I were more slutty. I’d probably be a lot more successful if I were.”
“This is such a tough industry, you know. To make it, you really have to sell your soul to the devil…. I haven’t. That’s probably why I haven’t quite reached the top of my mountain. I mean, where’s my Tony Award, my Grammy, my Oscar? Why don’t I have any of those things yet?”

Nicole Scherzinger and Lewis Hamilton were photographed leaving together after enjoying a meal at the Zuma restaurant in Knightsbridge, London.
Before their dinner date, the attractive couple attend the ‘Jack Reacher’ premiere, where they chatted to the movie star Tom Cruise at the Leicester Square event. The 34-yr-old entertainer looked stunning in a black, quilted dress by Zeynep Tosun, open-toe pumps and flawless makeup.

Nicole Scherzinger covers the latest issue of UK’s You magazine. Check out some highlights from the interview.
On boyfriend Lewis Hamilton: “I wish I could spend more time with Lewis. Everyone thinks that I’ll be able to see more of him while I’m in London, but unfortunately my live shows and his races are at the same time. We do our best. Obviously it’s a challenge being in different countries and having demanding schedules.”
On reuniting with the Pussy Cat Dolls: “I miss performing with the Pussycat Dolls. We were a powerful little unit and our time together was electric. There is always a possibility that we will get back together, but I am enjoying where I am right now. I’ve worked hard to be able to stand out on my own and have my name out there and not have it under the name of a band. That feels empowering.”
On working as judge on UK and U.S. X Factor: ”I have a soft spot for the UK X Factor because that’s where I started. Everything is honest and innocent. A UK audience can tell when something is from the heart. They have a great sense of humour and it’s more playful. There was a lot of hype around the US X Factor. The show was under a lot of pressure, and I was part of that. I had a difficult category because it was the ‘olders’, and in this industry the older you get the less chance you have of being a successful artist.”
On being a spiritual person: “I’ve always had a great relationship with God. I’m a spiritual person. I grew up in a strict Catholic family and my grandfather is a priest. Although religion was around me my whole life I never felt it was forced upon me. It is my centring, my grounding, the soul of me. I feel I’m nothing without it. I do go to church on Sundays. If I’m in different countries, I just go to mass, kneel and give thanks.”
On her time in London while working as judge: “I love London, although I’m spoiled by the California weather. I am excited by a new adventure. I’ve never been able to be a tourist as I’m always working. I’d like to have more time to walk around and see the culture and the history. I want to explore, hide under a cap and walk around. London is my second home. I wear more clothes in London because it’s colder, but in many ways you have to keep it chic and be a little more daring.”
On future goals: ”I definitely want to do another film if the right opportunity comes up. In five years I would like to have done a world tour and started a family. Hopefully I’ll also be married and have a film and a couple of big albums under my belt.”

Nicole Scherzinger graces the cover of the Sept 2012 issue of Cosmopolitian UK.
Here’s what the former X-Factor judge had to share about her race car driver boyfriend Lewis Hamilton.
On how they support each other: “We’re there for one another even though we have long, enduring schedules. But you have to be there for your mate, you know.”
On what he has taught her about life: “Well, I didn’t know anything about Formula One until I met him [laughs]. We’re form similar upbringings, so we share a similar outlook. We’re kindred spirits and hearts – that’s what ultimately connects us. I’m very close with his family too; we’re all close.”
On what’s important in her relationship: “Ultimately, you want to be with someone you can be yourself around. My grandma taught me the person you want to be with isn’t going to be. Prince Charming – it’s going to be the person you’re going to be able to work on a relationship with. It’s always a work in progress like everything.”
On secret(s) to making it work: “You have to love yourself first before you can expect it from someone else. And trust and communication are key.”

After getting the X from X Factor as a judge, Nicole Scherzinger has opened up about her time on the popular TV show.
“I think the biggest thing I have for me is my heart, as cheesy as that sounds. I cared so much about the contestants and wanted to make sure we bring out the best in them.”
On Simon Cowell: “Simon is just afraid of me,” Nicole told VIBE with a laugh. “I know I’m not ditzy like Daffy Duck and if I seem that way, maybe it’s just me being coy.”
