Jada Pinkett Smith is setting the record straight about recent comments she made, that suggests she has an open marriage with Will Smith.
Last week, in an interview with HuffPost, the entertainer was asked about the persistent rumors about her relationship with hubby- “I’ve always told Will: you can do whatever you want as long as you can look at yourself in the mirror and be okay. Because at the end of the day, Will is his own man.”
Well those comments had people asking more questions…so yesterday (April 14) Jada took to Facebook to clarify them.
“The statement I made in regard to, “Will can do whatever he wants,” has illuminated the need to discuss the relationship between trust and love and how they co-exist…
Here is how I will change my statement…Will and I BOTH can do WHATEVER we want, because we TRUST each other to do so. This does NOT mean we have an open relationship…this means we have a GROWN one.”

Jada Pinkett Smith has address the persistent rumors that she and hubby Will Smith have an ‘open relationship.’
In an interview with HuffPost Live to promote her executive produced Free Angela and All Political Prisoners film, the 41-yr-old actress said “No” then went on to say, “I think people get that idea because Will and I are very relaxed with one another… But, I’ve always told Will: You can do whatever you want as long as you can look at yourself in the mirror and be okay. Because at the end of the day, Will is his own man. I’m here as his partner, but he is his own man. He has to decide who he wants to be and that’s not for me to do for him.”

Queen Latifah’s New Talk Show To Debut on September 16, 2013!

Back in 2011, it was announced that Queen Latifah will host a syndicated daytime talk show called “The Queen Latifah Show” on CBS. Jada Pinkett Smith and hubby Will Smith of Overbrook Entertainment and Sony Pictures TV will produce the show, which is scheduled to debut on September 16, 2013.
“Wearing my Executive Producer hat, standing beside the next daytime talk show superstar,” Jada wrote on FB and shared a photo of herself with Latifah, “Starting September 16, 2013, you will be able to kick it with Queen Latifah everyday. We’re gonna have fun.”

This will be the Queen’s 2nd talk show, she had one back in 1999 and that ended in 2001. The new gig will “feature celebrity interviews, human interest stories, comedy, pop culture and musical performances, and showcasing Queen Latifah’s talents, blending comedy and music into her hosting duties.”

Since her debut on the music scene two years ago, 12-yr-old Willow Smith has been under the watchful eye of many critics. The young entertainer who is known for her bold fashion choices, cutting and dying her hair multiple colors, often remain silent when the cyber hair bullies attack her evolving style. Now, Jada Pinkett Smith has had enough. She recently took to Facebook to defend her daughter’s hair choices against the critics.
In an open letter titled, ‘A letter to a friend,’ Jada said she made a promise to endow Willow with the power to always know that her body, spirit and her mind are HER domain. And that her beauty, value and worth are not measured by the length of her hair.

A letter to a friend…
This subject is old but I have never answered it in its entirety. And even with this post it will remain incomplete.
The question why I would LET Willow cut her hair. First the LET must be challenged. This is a world where women,girls are constantly reminded that they don’t belong to themselves; that their bodies are not their own, nor their power or self determination. I made a promise to endow my little girl with the power to always know that her body, spirit and her mind are HER domain. Willow cut her hair because her beauty, her value, her worth is not measured by the length of her hair. It’s also a statement that claims that even little girls have the RIGHT to own themselves and should not be a slave to even their mother’s deepest insecurities, hopes and desires. Even little girls should not be a slave to the preconceived ideas of what a culture believes a little girl should be. More to come. Another day.
