After several interviews publicly announcing her desire to get married, Brandy‘s dream of being someone’s wife has finally come through… and we’re super happy for her!! Over the holiday season, the 33-yr-old “Put It Down” singer got engaged to her beau Ryan Press. Her rep confirmed the news to ET.
“They are thrilled and happy and Brandy feels this is so right,” according to an insider via Us Weekly.
Brandy covers the latest issue of JET magazine.
In this issue, the publication shares the secrets to how the 33-yr-old entertainer got her groove back after a hiatus from the music scene.
“I’ve never been a follower in my journey of music,” says Brandy. “I’m always interested in challenges and taking risks.” That strategy is clearly paying off in the form of rebounding recording success and another year of her breakout role onBET’s hit sitcom, The Game.
On what makes this return to music different from times before: “I had a little bit more guidance that I trusted with this album. It just felt like the beginning of my career; how I felt with Atlantic Records. Having my first A&R on board [Breyon Prescott], I just really trusted them and what my album should be—helping bring back the genre of R&B music.”
On the importance of voting: “So many have gone through so much, especially African Americans, to get the opportunity to vote. I remember my first time voting. My mom took me and held my hand. It gives you a voice on what you want and what you need. I think it’s so important for us to get out there and vote. That’s all I can really say about it.” Read the rest of the article here
