Last year at the same Gala, Janelle Monae wore a custom Chanel tuxedo-esque outfit complete with a top hat, but last night May 7 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s 2012 Costume Institute Gala in New York City, the singer soften things up a-bit by wearing a black silk “pants suit that was embellished at the waist.”
The “Tightrope” singer completed her stunning look with earrings and clutch to match.

While his new gal pal Kim Kardashian struggles to climb out his $500K McLaren mercedes ride on the west coast (see photo below), Kanye West rocked a well-tailored Givenchy tux at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s 2012 Costume Institute Gala last evening May 7, in New York City.
Over the weekend, Ye took to twitter and unleashed a new rant… this time around, his fashion pet peeves.
“Just driving through the city and I see a few things I hate…,” Kanye tweeted on Saturday. “I hate button up shirts with hoods. I hate hoods with sport coats. I hate sport coats with button up shirts, jeans and dress shoes.”
He continued, “I hate khaki trench coats with jeans and off brand work out sneakers. I hate khaki cargo shorts. I hate big ass striped scarves. I hate long ass sideburns with line up RnB beard.”

Looking fly in their matching black Givenchy ensemble, the talented Alicia Keys and her dapper looking hubby Swizz Beatz turned heads at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s 2012 Costume Institute Gala last evening May 7 in New York City.
“It’s only fun when I can do it with the love of my life!!;-),” the Grammy winning singer tweeted.
“On way to MET BALL with the Queen oh yes we’re Busy body’s 
,” the mega producer added.

Although she arrived late, moments after the red carpet closed, Rihanna rocked a sleek Tom Ford backless crocodile dress at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s 2012 Costume Institute Gala last evening May 7 in New York City.
“The dressing part was easy,” the 24-yr-old Bajan pop-star said, running into the museum, “my nails took forever. They’re like claws.”
Rihanna completed her look with Christian Louboutin shoes, clean natural make-up and some killa nails.
