Robin Roberts is mourning the death of her “beloved mother.”

The “Good Morning America” host who is battling her own health problems, made it home to Mississippi to say goodbye to her “ailing mom” Lucimarian Tolliver Roberts. She was 88.

Robin departed the show yesterday, a day earlier than she had announced to begin an extended medical leave for treatment of a bone marrow disorder MDS.

Tom Cibrowski, executive producer of “GMA, confirmed the news saying, “It is with deep regret and heavy prayer and reflection tonight that I write to tell you of the passing of Robin’s beautiful and inspiring mother, Lucimarian. Robin arrived home with her sister Sally-Ann, forging through flooded and blocked roads to be with her beloved mother in time to see her.” [ABC NEWS]
