Usher was back on stage over the weekend in New York .

This was the first performance for the 33-yr-old entertainer since the death of his ex-wife’s son Kyle Glover on July 21 of head injuries suffered in a jet ski accident on July 8 in Georgia.

“For all the hard times, you can’t do it without your friends, so I just want to toast a second . . . Thank you for allowing me to share this incredible moment with you.” He said during an event in the Hamptons to benefit The Apollo Theater. He added, “Cheers for tears.” 

Jennifer Hudson, Paul McCartney and the Isley Brothers helped raised $2million “to support programs at the Apollo.”
