Here’s what the 33-yr-old entertainer had to say about the changing sound of his music and evolving as an artist.

“That’s what music is, man! It’s forever evolving. Imagine if people continued to make music based on how it sounded in the 1930s [laughs]. Dubstep, specifically was something I wanted to experiment with, and several of the producers I worked with were mindful of it, as well. I think producers are really inspired by what they see is relevant; they want that raw experience. So they put those things into the songs, and I find that way to make the melody and the lyrics work over it.”

On sharing his own experiences through his songs: “I think I’ve become a little bit more open, maybe a little more trusting of people. The media, you know, they never get it right, unless it comes from the horse’s mouth. So I said, ‘Fu*k it-i’m gonna start speaking how I fell.”
