A four-alarm fire broke out at the studios of actor/writer/director Tyler Perry yesterday May 1, in Atlanta.

The Associated Press reports, that the fire started before 9 p.m. at Tyler Perry Studios that damaged a building at the complex.

Fire officials say there were no injuries from the incident and that the cause of the fire is under investigation.

In a statement released earlier today, Tyler Perry thanked the firefighters who spent about an hour to extinguished the flames.

“Atlanta firefighters responded immediately to a fire which damaged the backlot façade of one of the buildings at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta. We are grateful that there were no injuries, and that 99 percent of the damage is limited to the backlot facade. Mr. Perry wishes to express his heartfelt thanks to the Atlanta fire department for their professionalism in their quick response and limiting the damage.”
