George Clooney was arrested and handcuffed outside the Sudanese embassy in Washington today March 16.

The actor, along with his father Nick Clooney and more than one dozen prominent campaigners was protesting the country’s blockage of food and aid to its own starving people.

George was later released after he made bail of $100. 

“You never know if you are accomplishing anything. … We hope it helps. There really is a ticking clock on (the situation),” the actor said about the arrest.

When asked about his girlfriend, Stacy Keibler and her reaction to the arrest. “She’s probably thrilled,” George said.
