Alicia Keys, R Kelly, Tyler Perry, Ray-J, Stevie Wonder Bid Final Farewells At Whitney Houston’s Funeral [Videos]
Before her raw, heart-felt and moving tribute to Whitney Houston, an emotional Alicia Keys wipe tears before a touching rendition of “Send Me An Angel” at the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey earlier today Feb 18.
Check the video inside of Ray J as he reaches out to Whitney’s casket as it was carried down the aisle and I Will Always Love You played. He touched the casket, covered his mouth then collapsed into his seat – with Brandy by his side.
The spiritual homegoing service, which was hosted by Dionne Warwick, featured an eulogy by pastor Marvin Winans, and speakers like Tyler Perry, Kevin Costner, Clive Davis and Newark mayor Cory Booker.
R. Kelly sang “I Look to You,” Stevie Wonder reworked his song, “Ribbon in the Sky” and the Rev. Kim Burrell sang a moving interpretation on “A Change is Gonna Come.”
Whitney Houston will be laid to rest tomorrow at Fairview Cemetery alongside her father, John Russell Houston Jr., who died in 2003.
