Christopher ‘Kid’ Reid arrested then Released From Police Custody

Christopher “Kid” Reid, one half of the late 1980s hip-hop band Kid ‘n Play was arrested yesterday (Aug 9) for missing a court hearing in connection with a 2010 drunk driving conviction.
Back in 2010, the 47-yr-old artist pleaded no contest to driving under the influence. He was sentenced to three years’ probation, ordered to attend 10 AA meetings and an alcohol-education program, and fined more than $1,400.
A spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Superior Court, Patricia Kelly, said, a judge issued a warrant for his arrest after he missed a July 25 hearing. Reid, who was under court-supervised probation, was taken in the LA County Jail shortly before noon and held on $26,000 bail.
Hours after officers showed up at his house in Los Angeles and arrested him Reid was released from custody and told TMZ the whole thing was a “clerical error.” He also thanked fans for their support. ”Thanks to everybody that was hollering and concerned. Everything’s good. I love L.A. Peace to the po-po.”
