On her childhood: ”We lived in a council flat in Ladbroke Grove. My mum worked as a cleaning lady and caught up on her studies in the evenings. My dad took on every job he could get. He worked like mad. But then, at some point, he had saved up enough to open his first pub.”
On the phone call that changed her life: “I was just looking for a pair of sneakers for a client when my manager called me and said: ‘Rita, somebody wants to speak to you.’ The guy on the other end of the line said: ‘We saw you perform in London, Jay-Z likes your songs. Do you feel like coming to New York?’ - I was speechless but then said: ‘How nice of you to call but I’ll have to save some money first to be able to afford the flight.’ The guy just started laughing. They had already reserved the flight and booked the hotel.” More >

After serving seven days of a 30-day jail sentence for butt slapping his attorney in court, Chad Johnson was released from the Broward County jail yesterday.
Speaking with reporters, the Former NFL player said he was thankful to the Judge for locking him up because she was the first person to get him to slow him down and think about the path his life was taking.
“Well, I mean most definitely. I THINK judge McCue was able to do something many have tried to get me do for a long time, slow down, just life in general, slow down, think about what you’re going to do and she was able to do that. Maybe not in the best circumstances, to those on the outside but I see me thinking about life and where I’m going from this point going on is probably one of the best things that happened to me.”
And One day after being released from jail, Chad Johnson was on Good Morning America with Robin Roberts this morning – Check the video below More >
Check out Scott Disick as he parodies Christian Bale from the infamous killing scene from the film American Psycho.
The short-film which also stars Jonathan Cheben, was created to help promote Kanye West‘s new album ‘Yeezus’ which dropped early last night on the rapper’s website – This shit is pretty AWESOME!!! If you’ve watch American Psyco more than a dozen times like moi – then you’ll appreciate Yeezy’s parody!!
“Hey do you like Kanye West? The early work was a little too hip hop for me and my taste, but when Dark Twisted Fantasy came out in 2010 I think he really came into his own, both musically and lyrically.”
“Kanye’s been compared to Jesus, Hitler, Walt Disney and even Steve Jobs.”
“It should be obvious by now that ‘New Slaves’ is the undisputed masterpiece on Yeezus. A song so catchy, most people wont even remember the lyrics….but they should. Then there’s the song, ‘I Am A God.’ The title practically speaks for itself, but of course, the insecurities of the mainstream music press will never understand it’s true meaning, because it’s about me!”
“Try getting the Yeezus album now, motherfucker!”[Complex]
